“I think I do.”

Andrea arched a brow.

“Aren’t you going to ask about the missing girl?”

“Foster children run away from home all the time.” Andrea glanced her way. “You should know that.”

“I do.” Clary had thought that was the case too. But Seth had given her some worrisome details that might indicate something else had happened. Something nefarious.

“If there were anything to it, the police would have found out,” Andrea said.

“Well, they have nothing. Even the private investigators Mr. E hired found nothing.”

Andrea shrugged. “So the girl ran away.”

Clary licked her lips.

“There’s something else you’re not telling me.”

“I don’t think I can tell you,” she said. “Not because I don’t trust you.”

“You need Seth’s permission to share it?”

“Because it’s their story.”

Andrea nodded slowly. “I like loyal and discreet people.” She grinned. “Very well. Need to know basis. And all I really need to know right now is: When is our spa day?”

CHAPTER 15

“I don’t understand why we have to bring food,” Seth said while he and Clary strode toward the small mobile home with off-white walls and a blue roof. “We’re here to confront the hacker.”

Usually, Seth didn’t bother with hackers. His team had standing instructions. Track the hackers, then send a message back to them and let them know that Movement knew who they were.

It was an extremely effective tactic.

Movement rarely got repeat hackers. It was too problematic for them.

But Seth had asked for this hacker’s information because he suspected that this incident might have something to do with Pete Laker.

He wasn’t all that surprised that the hacker, Remo Webb, was a thirty-year-old who still lived with his parents. And now that Seth was sure Pete had hired Remo, this trip felt like a waste of time.

“We need information,” Clary said. “And people are always a lot nicer when food is involved.”

Did Remo really have more information to offer them?

Clary believed so.

“We already know for sure it’s Jimmy.”

“No we don’t. We believe it is, but we can’t know for sure. And if it is him, won’t it be great if Remo can give us a full name and a way to contact him?”

“And then what?”

“Reach out and clear up the misunderstanding.”

Seth laughed once.

“Nothing’s impossible.”
