He rested his hands on my shoulders. “I just have to grab something from the cabin. I’ll be back.”

I dropped my elbows to the table and rested my chin on my fists. Alone, I had to focus on how much I hated the Bending Branches Mindfulness Retreat.

“Proper posture will straighten out your path to enlightenment, Fiona.” Carl tapped my shoulders and tutted at me before walking away.

Fiona opened the door to the cabin looking as dejected as she had the night before. Her shoulders bowed in, her head low, she was visibly dragging from another long day. “I’m just going to take a shower and go to bed. I never knew a leader’s approval meant so much to me until I couldn’t get it to save my life.”

Ryder started to say something but I held up my hand and shook my head. Fiona hadn’t noticed anything about the cabin and I wanted her to relax a bit before she saw it. For whatever reason, Fiona enjoying our surprise mattered to me.

“Fiona, sit up straight. Fiona, open up more about why you can’t open up more. Fiona, bend over farther and snap your sad back during the multiple yoga sessions I’m making you do, even though my employee keeps farting in your face. Fiona, you’re never going to grow into your whole self if you don’t lick my butt.”

I pressed my fist to my mouth to stop myself from laughing. It was beyond clear that Fiona was done with Carl Levine. I was even slightly worried that if she had to deal with him for another full day, she would take him out.

Jake grinned as soon as the bathroom door closed. “Did she say what I think she said?”

I nodded. “Yeah. She’s done with this place. We may need to call in a wellness check on her sister after she leaves here tomorrow.”

“She’s all bark.” Ryder walked over to the tower of cake he’d managed to get delivered to the closed campus. “She’s so fucking sweet that even her bark is cute.”

Something clattered in the bathroom and Fiona released a loud growl. “I hate this place!”

I shrugged. “It is kind of cute.”

I grabbed the bottle of champagne my assistant had snuck into the cabin and popped it open. I planned on getting a glass into Fiona’s hands as soon as possible. It was her birthday and she deserved to enjoy it.

The water in the shower cut off and no more than three seconds passed before the bathroom door was yanked open and her wet head shot out. “Did I hear a cork pop? Is that- Oh, my god.”

I had to lower the champagne bottle to hide my erection as Fiona stepped fully out of the bathroom in just a towel. Water ran down her bare arms and trailed down her inner thighs. Her eyes were wide and she smiled so big that the dimple in her right cheek showed. If she’d been any other woman, I would’ve sworn she was trying to seduce us. Fiona truly didn’t understand the effect she had on men, though. She didn’t notice that all three of the men locked in the tiny cabin with her were staring at her hungrily, like a pack of starved wolves.

She held her towel with one hand and rushed over to throw her other arm around my neck. She hugged me tight and then pressed a wet kiss to my cheek. “This is the nicest, best thing anyone’s ever done for me!”

Jake shifted his hips away from her as she hugged and kissed him, too. Ryder casually wrapped his arms around her waist, pinning her to his chest, when she threw herself into him. Her towel shifted higher in the back and the bottom curve of her ass peeked out at us.

Fiona eased away so she could look at everything. She went from the cake to the birthday decorations and finally to the pile of presents. Her eyes looked like they could fall out of her head they were so round. “You got me presents?”

“It’s your birthday, Fiona. Of course, we got you presents.” Ryder ran his hands through his hair and blew out a shaky breath. “Are you too tired for a birthday party?”

“Are you kidding? No! This is the best thing that’s happened all weekend.” She gestured at her body. “I just need to get dressed first. I forgot to take my clothes in with me.”

When she hurried back into the bathroom with a bundle of clothes, the three of us all finally exhaled. Jake adjusted his pants and swore. “This is crazy. Am I insane or is she flirting with us?”

I held up my hands. “I just need her to put on layers. Lots and lots of layers. I’m dying here.”

Ryder gripped the countertop and bent over. “There’s no way she didn’t feel my dick.”

Fiona came out still pulling up the strap to her tank top. She was in tiny shorts and a tiny tank top, both doing nothing to hide her curves. With her face bare and her hair wet, she looked too innocent for any of us to look at her. She was pure white snow and we were filthy, all inching closer for a touch.

“If I eat this entire cake, can we still be friends?” Fiona pulled herself up onto the counter and ran her finger along the bottom border of icing. Popping that finger in her mouth, she sucked and didn’t seem to notice the three of us slowly dying. “Oh, my god. This is delicious. Yum.”

I passed her the bottle of champagne, too unsteady to try to pour it. “Happy birthday, Fiona.”

Her eyes were bright and her smile pure happiness as she lifted the bottle to her lips and took a drink. “Is it time for the cake now? I don’t mean to be pushy but I want carbs, unhealthy ones.”

Ryder was in my same predicament. He took the bottle from her and pointed at the cake before taking a long pull of champagne. “Go for it.”
