We broke apart and I couldn’t help but smile at the warmth that lingered on my lips, the echo of his kiss still tingling on my skin.

“God, I love you, Dorothy,” he whispered.

I traced my fingers over his lips, savoring the feel of his skin beneath my touch. “I do have one question,” I said, my voice light with amusement.

His eyes met mine. “Hit me with it,” he replied, a playful grin tugged at the corners of his mouth.

I leaned in closer to him. “You don’t have any other crazy exes I should know about, do you?” I asked teasingly.

Rocco laughed, the sound rich and full of warmth. “Nope, just the one,” he said, shaking his head. “How about you? Any skeletons in your closet?”

I laid my hand on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath my palm. “The only dudes I’ve hung out with in the past couple of years have all been dead,” I replied.

Rocco pulled me into his arms, his laughter mingling with mine. “Well, in that case, I think we should be in the clear for the next forty years to just live a boring life, right?” he suggested.

I wrinkled my nose in mock disapproval. “I think we should at least get fifty years of boring after today,” I quipped.

He nodded, his expression softening with affection as he gazed down at me. “I love you, Dorothy,” he said, his voice filled with sincerity.

“I love you too, Rocco.”
