“I will get back to you regarding the partnership proposal as soon as you send us the information we requested,” I say, hoping to smooth the conversation back into the business realm. “Like I said, we’re more than happy to consider it, and Finn and Elias agree that it’s worth taking a look at.”

“Huh?” she mumbles, unable to even look at me.

“The partnership proposal,” I remind her. “For that crypto venture.”

“Right. Yeah,” Ramada sighs deeply and stands up. She is as stiff as a corpse, her bony shoulders tightening with each passing second. “Yeah, I’ll email you. Yeah.”

“Again, I’m sorry for any misunderstanding on your part,” I reply. “I hope we’re still on amicable terms here. You are a valuable customer of the Golden Sequoia Estate, Ramada.”

“No, it’s fine,” she says, half-smiling. “I know what I have to do now.”

“I’m glad to hear that.”

Ramada takes another deep breath and heads for the door.

“I’ll see you around,” I say. I can almost feel the tension seeping out of the room with her as soon as she bolts through the door.

She is so lost in thought that she doesn’t even acknowledge Finn and Elias as they come in. The two of them pause in the doorway and look back at her, watching her until she disappears into the elevator, then take over the guest seats with cool smiles.

“I guess she doesn’t like rejection,” Finn chuckles.

“It’s for the best,” I say. “I had to.”

“You did everything right,” Elias replies. “There’s nothing for you to feel guilty about.”

I nod in agreement. “I know. It’s still uncomfortable, but hey, that’s life. We don’t always get what we want, now, do we?”

“What about that business venture of hers? Did she tell you anything new about it?” Finn runs a hand through his copper-colored hair.

“She hasn’t sent that information over just yet. I think we should give her a couple of days to wrap her head around this new reality of hers.”

Elias raises an eyebrow. “She seemed shell-shocked.”

“Enough about Ramada,” Finn groans and rolls his eyes for good measure. “Let her not be a problem anymore, because if she jumps you again, I swear to God I’m gonna call security on her bony ass.”

The three of us laugh and delve into our usual management-related conversation, but I can definitely feel a great load having left my shoulders along with Ramada. I feel sorry for her, yet I cannot fully sympathize with her dismay, either. My conscience is clear. Besides, we’ve got so much work to do with the estate, with our other projects, and most importantly, with Amaya.

Amaya

The past couple of weeks have blown by like the sweetest, warmest haze.

Kace, Finn, and Elias are the ideal boyfriends. Three for the price of one, Mira says. I’m lucky, and I can’t believe I almost pushed them away because of my own fears and insecurities. I would’ve missed out on so much.

I keep busy on a daily basis. Mikey takes up a lot of my time, but that’s part of why I love my life—something I didn’t think I’d feel so intensely back when I was living with Derrick. Work is great. I’m getting more clients in both private and group sessions, and they all walk out with huge smiles on their faces.

My men are my rocks. I don’t even know when that happened. They have become an integral part of my life, and I have a hard time imagining a future without them. Kace loves to send me all sorts of gifts, almost every day. If it’s not flowers, it’s my favorite brand of protein bar, or some premium fitness goody bag. Anything to put a smile on my face.

Finn, on the other hand, showers me with jewelry. He started out with the most expensive kind until he noticed I’m shy about wearing them. They’re beautiful pieces but not the type of jewels that I’d wear on a daily basis; more out on a fancy date, paired with a nice dress. He also noticed I’m partial to local craftsmanship, so he switched to homemade bracelets and earrings instead—most of them made with semiprecious stones and high-quality silver. He loves it when I wear his gifts, so he has figured out a way to get his personal satisfaction out of each of these gestures.

Elias enjoys taking me out of the estate whenever he gets a chance. We’ll jump into his vintage cherry-red convertible and go for a drive through Napa Valley. Sometimes, Finn and Kace will join us and we’ll make it all the way out to the coast, where I get to dip my toes in the Pacific Ocean and simply relax.

Elias also handles all of my babysitting and childcare expenses. I didn’t want that at first, but he insisted, and I’ve learned to let my men help me since it’s what they genuinely wish to do. I am thankful beyond measure. I am in awe and so grateful for the love that has come my way.

It is love. I can’t deny it.

We are perfect together. Either in pairs or in threes or the four of us together, we just work so well. Our synergy is seamless, and I am constantly impressed by how they plan things so thoughtfully and make time, not just for me but for Mikey, as well. We’ve been including him in our occasional weekend trips to the beach, and my boy is ecstatic every time.
