Feeling almost embarrassed, I try to get a towel or my shirt to clean up, but Oliver stops me by grabbing my wrist.

He brings the cum-soaked finger closer to his face.

“What are you?—”

My words cut off when he closes his lips around my finger. A second later, he takes the finger out, now clean of the white substance, before leveling me with a look.

“I want all of you.”

I don’t know what to say or do, so I just nod.

His serious expression morphs in an instant, replaced by his normal, sheepish grin.

“Let’s take a shower and get you cleaned up.”

“Don’t you want to get off?”

“Actually, seeing you come sent me over the edge.”

I look down at the sheets, seeing the mess he made. Looks like we might be sleeping in the other room tonight.

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

Oliver

“You have got to be kidding me!” I groan, looking at my water pipes.

Sweat covers my whole body as I mess with the water heater and the water main pipe. I can’t believe Pops never even tried to fix it.

Actually, scratch that. Of course, Pops wouldn’t mess with this thing. The shack wasn’t his home; it was a prison.

This isn’t something I can try to bullshit my way through, either. It’s not the same as a leaking pipe or broken door. Hell, roofing a whole house is a cakewalk for me compared to redoing water pipes.

My only option is to pay for someone to repair it.

And the only way to afford that is if I dip into the runaway jar. Even then, I might have to get another job.

I hang my head at the thought. Not only would that push back getting Oceania, but that would also mean I couldn’t do my weekend lessons with the kids.

It would also mean less time with Sally.

After wiping my hands on my jeans, I walk around the shack to see Sally sitting on the porch.

“How’s it look?” She combs her hand through freshly showered hair. She walked back to her place to clean up.

Giving her a glum look, I stalk toward her. She doesn’t even hesitate to meet me halfway and open up her arms.

I probably smell awful, but I grab at her, pulling her into my chest. She smells like fresh flowers. I bury my face in her neck, tightening my arms around her. The wetness from her hair cools my face.

After a few breaths, I pull back, giving her a sheepish grin. “Sorry, I’m all sweaty.”

“Don’t remind me. I might have to take another shower.” She pauses for a second and turns toward the shack. “You aren’t staying here, are you?”

She’s right. Until this morning, we’d been sleeping here together without a single worry. We’d wake up, go for a morning swim, and then, during our showers, we couldn’t take our hands off each other. If Sally is still shy about her body around me, she’s hiding it like a professional actor.

I hope she’s not acting, though. I want that trust. I want her more than she even knows, and I bet that scares the shit out of her. It scares the shit out of me. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way about a girl before.

“I could probably stay with Jaxon.” She pouts and then pushes her face into my chest to the point that she might just be in my ribcage. A vibration from what might be a hiss comes from her. “Use your words, princess.”
