Page 88 of Finding My Name

“Sally!” I call out, but there’s no response. It isn’t until a moment later that I see blonde hair rise in a different spot than where she landed.

“Oh my god, did you see that?”

I can barely hear her as my blood pumps into my heart, and tries to calm down because she’s safe. I reach out and take her into my arms and search every inch that I can see.

“Oliver?” She looks over my concerned expression with confusion.

“Do you know how dangerous those cliffs are?” My jaw clenches at the thought of her hurt because I decided to show off. “You could have been hurt or worse. What if you had broken your leg or hit your head and lost consciousness in the water?—”

My rant gets cut off when her lips connect with mine. I want to fight back, but as her lips mold with mine, the words and worry start to fade, and my heart rate returns to normal—or at least as normal as it can get when kissing this sexy girl.

“I’m okay, Ollie.” She pushes her forehead against mine and whispers again, “I’m okay, I’m fine.”

The sunset fully replaces the orange hue of the sky with an electric blue that darkens as the minutes go by. My heart has only just calmed down since Sally gave me the scare of the century.

I know she didn’t mean to scare me, but the girl seems to have no regard for her own life, and that scares me to death.

I know she feels bad about it because she hasn’t smiled since we left the cove. Come on, Oliver, find a way to save the night. This is Sally’s first night staying here at the shack, and I want it to be memorable.

“You can use the shower first,” I say, walking over to the kitchen in search of something I can throw together.

Please let there be something we can eat.

Sally walks to the door before turning to me. “Are you not joining me?”

My mind freezes at her words. I blink a few times at her before recovering. “Do you want me to join you?”

I get my answer when she blushes and rushes into the bathroom. “No, that’s okay. I just thought it was weird you didn’t offer.”

Her sudden embarrassment causes me to grin before I grab a bag of popcorn and pop it into the microwave.

The shower starts, and heat creeps over my body. She was so fucking beautiful on the beach. That girl belongs in the water.

I want to see her in every body of water I visit when I finally start my journey. Weirdly, the thought of actually leaving Alliance doesn’t cause any sort of unease. Normally, when I start planning the trip, anxiety drifts in as I think about everything changing while I’m gone, but not this time. When I think about Sally by my side, the thought of change doesn’t feel bad. It almost feels good.

The pops from the microwave slow down, and I pull it out and pour it into the bowl.

“Oliver,” Sally’s voice comes through the room.

“Yeah?”

“I need some towels.”

Towels? Did I forget to have a clean set for her? I can’t let her use one that’s dirty. I march over to the storage closet only to see that there are no towels in it. Eff my life. We’ve only really kept two different towels in the house—one for Pops and one for me.

“I’m coming in!” I call through the door, opening it up as a wall of steam comes out. My muscles tense from the prospect of seeing Sally naked. “I’m sorry I couldn’t find any towel?—”

The fresh, gray towel I brought in here earlier is on the toilet seat.

“Princess, I thought you said there wasn’t a towel in here.”

“Oh, my bad.”

I shake my head, ready to leave the room, when a wet hand grabs my wrist. I turn, and my blood stills as Sally stands in the shower, wet pink hair clinging to her collarbone.

My eyes trail down her body slowly, inch by inch, burning it into my memory. Every part of her is beautiful. Sally’s arm covers her tits from my gaze, but my eyes don’t stop wandering until they hit her entire body.

I frown when I see she’s still in her swim shorts, which means there’s still that barrier to work on, but I know this won’t be easy, and I’m not going anywhere. I can clearly see how turned on she is with her pressing up against the shorts, fighting to get out.
