It was like a switch got flipped in her brain. Sophia’s entire demeanor changed.

“You’re shitting me!” she gasped.

“I shit you not. I already Doordashed it.”

“I knew there was a reason I loved you so much!”

I chuckled some more. “And hey, what if I told you that once the wine got here, I’d probably go into some of the juicier details about what it’s like to have two boyfriends?”

Now I had her full, undivided attention. “You would?”

“Probably, yeah,” I teased.

I got up, picked out another piece of wood, and laid it carefully onto the fire. The embers blazed bright orange under the new weight.

“And depending upon how much wine we drink,” I added slowly. “I might even tell you why none of us ever worry about a ‘sex schedule…’”

HARPER

I watched Adrian from the heated comfort of the back seat as he drove us home. His long arms were extended, casually turning the wheel left and right through a series of snow-choked streets. My mind wandered to fun places, as my eyes fixated lazily on the handsome fingers gripping the leather-stitched steering wheel.

God, even his hands were sexy.

“You wouldn’t believe what Brayden said to me the other night,” he smiled at me in the rear-view mirror.

I settled even further into the soft warmth of the luxury sedan. I was pleasantly buzzed. Contented and happy. Especially with Preston’s thigh resting against mine, and his strong arm around me.

“What did he say?”

“He flung his peas onto the floor, and told me you would eat them.”

My mouth dropped open in disbelief.

“He’s not wrong,” Preston needled me. “She probably would eat them.”

The car erupted in laughter, at my expense. Rolling with it, I elbowed him playfully.

“I’ve seen her eat lots of things,” Jax winked.

There were a lot of advantages to dating three men at once, including some I hadn’t thought of until I was in the thick of it. First, you had three times as many things to do. You had three times the ideas, three times the cool places to go, and three times the access to fun stuff and hobbies.

And for the really ambitious girlfriend, three times the number of dates all week long.

Two months.

I seriously couldn’t believe it. I’d been seeing three men for two straight months, while working, nannying, and getting my end product ready for market. Yet somehow, through all the chaos and craziness, things had only gotten better between us.

Each of my boyfriends was unique in his own way, and I enjoyed spending one-on-one time with them. Still, I loved when they doubled up on dating me even more. Not just for the obvious sexual benefits either, but for the extra boost of laughter and camaraderie that came with having three people instead of two. Those kind of dates were still cozy, still intimate, still romantic. Yet with an extra person, they were always more fun.

Finally, there were amazing dates like the one I was on tonight, where all three men showed up to take me out together. Getting all four of our schedules to line up was like stumbling upon some rare planetary alignment. It was beautiful when and if it happened, but so special that you really wanted to take the time to enjoy it.

That was the case tonight, believe it or not. Brayden and Emma were with their other parents for the evening, leaving the four of us totally unhindered. We had time, we had each other, and now we had a night spread wide with a thousand open-ended possibilities.

We used the first portion of the night to head downtown, get outside, and work off some steam. So far we’d walked at least twelve city blocks, stopping at two craft breweries for flights of beer. As darkness fell we found ourselves clear on the other side of the town, gathered around a tiny Formica table, sharing a spicy pepperoni pizza at Carbone’s.

Eventually we made our way back to Adrian’s car. By then we were cold and shivering, but also invigorated and looking forward to his warm apartment. We had plans there for the night, and big plans at that.
