“Nothing would make me happier,” Aiden said.

“I never thought there was any doubt we would be together forever.” Logan grinned. “The three of us are a family.”

The next day, as we were heading out, we ran into Josh at the front desk. He asked what we had planned for the day.

“We thought we'd have breakfast at that cute little bistro down the street first,” I told him. “Then I want to visit the aquarium. Aiden wants to tour Hemingway's house. Logan wanted to rent jet skis, but we convinced him a boat trip would be safer.”

“Good luck. That's a lot to pack into one day. You'll find things move a little slower here in Key West. We have a saying—The best laid plans last just until the first happy hour.”

“We’ll keep that in mind,” Aiden told him

“Speaking of happy hour, make sure you stop by the pool tonight. Brock will be there, and Savanna's parents will be back in town. I'm sure they would all like to meet our guest heroes from up north.”

Aiden and Logan both blushed, but I assured him we would be there. We returned to Mango Cove six hours later, sunburned and a little tipsy. Josh had been right about happy hour. After the aquarium, we had made it as far as Tony’s Place before our plans fell apart. Back in the room, we collapsed on the bed for a much needed nap.

By the time we woke up, showered, and got dressed, Mango Cove’s nightly happy hour was in full swing. Logan headed for the Red Royals. Aiden and I joined Savanna, who was talking with an older couple. She introduced them as Rita and Flynn, her parents.

When Logan joined us, Aiden eyed his heaping plate. “Did you leave any shrimp for everybody else?”

“Nonsense.” Flynn spoke up. The waters around here are full of them and if we run out, Brock will go out and get us some more. He'd be happy to see this young man enjoying the products of his labor.”

“That's Savanna's other husband,” Rita explained. He and his family have been fishing for generations. Tell your guests the story of how the two of you met.”

“Will save that for another time,” Savanna told her. “I'm more interested in hearing about their experiences back in Pittsburgh. You never told us what happened to that Danny fellow.”

Flynn looked at Logan. “You’re a better man than me, son. I would never have pulled him out of that house. He could have burned for all I care.”

“I’ll admit, I considered it for a moment, but Aiden convinced me it would be wrong.”

“And now your conscience is clear and Price is where he can’t hurt anybody.” Aiden said, continuing the story. “After a couple of days in the hospital, the police charged him with theft of a vehicle, two counts of arson, kidnapping, and attempted murder.”

“Here in Florida, that would get him at least twenty years,” chimed in Flynn.

“His attorney got him a plea bargain. He’ll still do a minimum of ten years before he’s eligible for parole. The local police have also reopened the investigation into his mother’s death.”

I shivered at the thought of how close I had come to dying in that basement. Thankfully, Rita saw and changed the subject. “Did you know that we have an ordained minister here in town who performs polyamorous weddings? Josh throws a beautiful reception.”

Savanna choked on her drink. “Mother, you’ve just met these people.”

“What? I can’t try to drum up a little business?”

I laughed, but caught the twinkle in Aiden’s and Logan’s eyes.
