I just grit my teeth and I gaze at him like he has grown two heads. I don’t know if he just knows what he is doing but I do know that there is no way in hell that I’m going to just be able to accept this. Just as he is stalking towards me to do who knows what to me, I hear a loud roar that ends up shaking the ground where we were at. He stumbles back just as the roof of the hut is ripped off and I am shocked when I see a massive dragon looking down at us. The attacker’s body is snapped clean in half, and I can only just stare with horror. What just happened?
The dragon starts to blur and the next thing I know, Mason is standing there. My jaw drops because I never expected him to just be standing there but I’m not going to complain. I just part my lips and watch him as he rushes towards me, a big smile on his face.
“Beautiful, I am here!” He assures me, kissing me, “Are you okay? He didn’t hurt you?”
“No, I’m okay.” I assure him, wondering where this is going, “I…”
“You’re my fated mate!” He explains to me, making me go still, “I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you, but nobody is going to hurt you again. They won’t have a chance to. I know I might have a bit to prove but I can assure you that I’m not going to allow them to ever touch you. Don’t worry, I will make sure that nobody hurts you again if you’ll accept me.”
I know it might be a bad idea to just accept him, but I end up cupping his face in my hands and kissing him. I know that this might end up biting me in the butt, but I know that I can’t do anything without him. I need him in my life and be damned who tries to tear us apart.
