“Ugh.”

“Alexei.” I tried again. “Alexei, you’re on the floor. You should get to bed.”

He roared like a bear, pushed himself up on his knees, and threw the vodka bottle at my head with all the force he could gather. I knew the impact would leave a bruise on my chin.

“Leave me alone,” he went down on the floor again. “Suka blyat.”

“Fine, sleep here for all I care.”

“Suka blyat.”

A slut. It wasn’t the first time he called me that, but today at least he was right.

Chapter 4

Three days later I still had no idea who my mysterious Russian queen was. It was driving me fucking insane. I had to find that woman and bury myself in her pussy again before I lost my damn mind for good.

Ever since the night of the party, I hadn’t left my house. I couldn’t eat, sleep, or concentrate. All I was able to do was think about her and remember every kiss, every moan, and every curve of her body. I would have done the same thing today if business hadn’t dragged me out of the house. I still owed my dad a lunch with the Russians, and I had to make that girl feel good for a few hours. I knew the only way to do that was to imagine she had hair like a river of gold and icy-blue eyes.

I made my way to Serendipity, a high-end rooftop restaurant that Mom loved and gave my car keys to the valet. God, I was in no mood, but I had to put on a smile so my mother wouldn’t see something was eating at me. The woman was worse than the feds.

I spotted them and kissed my mom’s cheek.

“Hello, dear.”

“Mother.”

Then I went and shook hands with my father.

“Enzo, you’re right on time son. I’ll go meet Alexei right now and bring him here. Stay with your mother.”

“Sure.”

Mom was drinking her lemon water and looking at me.

“Enzo, you don’t need to listen to Gino. Go if you want to go, baby.”

“I’m fine, mom.”

“I’m not ok with him using you.”

“Hey, it’s just lunch. I’ll smile and be charming, just like you raised me. If I like her, maybe I’ll take her out for dinner, if I don’t then that’s it. No harm done.” The chances of another woman making me interested so soon after the Russian queen were close to zero.

“Don’t do anything stupid.”

“Like what?”

“Like play with that girl’s feelings just to make your father’s business deal easier.”

“I won’t, Mom. Relax, ok. Do you want me to order you some chocolate cake? It always makes you smile.”

“God, no. Salvatrice made me taste her new menu twice last week.”

I’ve heard a hoarse laugh and saw dad coming back with a guy in a shiny suit, whose belly was going over the front of his pants, and chest hair was peeking out of his shirt. Two women were walking behind, but he was blocking the view so all we could see was the top of their heads.

“Alexei, this is my family. My wife Muse and son Enzo.” We got a smile from the Russian. “Alexei Popov is a very sharp businessman, and these two lovely ladies are his wife, Ludmila, and daughter Katja. Katja, let me introduce you to my son.”

Alexei stepped to the side, and I lost my fucking breath when I saw who was hiding behind him. It was her. My Russian queen. Dad put a hand on Popov’s daughter’s back, a nice-looking girl with brown hair, but I almost didn’t see her. She was disappearing into the background when standing to such pure, raw beauty. The queen had a name, Ludmila.
