“War, take Thorn and go the hell home,” Tank grumbled. “Don’t call and keep your woman under control.”

“Yay,” Rose jumped into Warren’s arms. “Maybe I should go to work for us. I could do negotiations and that kind of junk.”

“No,” Warren answered immediately. He cut off her protest with a kiss that stole her breath.

“I’m going to Alaska?” Tanya asked. “That is over by Georgia, right? At least it will be warm there.”

“Public education at its finest,” Franny gawked. “I’m sure you will get settled in no time. With a nice puffy coat, you will be toasty as can be, maybe.”

Chapter 23

“When are we going home?”

“Tomorrow,” Warren grunted. Kicking the door closed, he didn’t stop until he got to the bed.

“Where is home?” Rose asked as he placed her on the bed and tucked a blanket around her. “You do realize it is a million degrees. The last thing I need is a blanket.”

“Home is with you.” Warren sat on the bed beside her.

“Aw,” Rose sighed. “That is so sweet.” She ran her hands over his chest. Rose wrapped the soft cotton around her fingers and pulled. She didn’t feel guilty when she got his chest hair in her grip. “It also doesn’t answer my questions. No more lies. No evasions or half-truths.”

“Petal, you’ll hurt your hands if you keep doing that.”

“My hands are fine.”

Warren settled it by stretching out beside her. With the reason his world turned lying on his chest, he felt like he could breathe again.

“Warren.”

“My precious Petal. We can live anywhere you want to live.”

“How many times have I told you our house doesn’t matter?”

“Every time I came home because I couldn’t stay away any longer.”

“You were listening,” Rose narrowed her eyes at him.

Warren draped her body over his. Banding his arms around her, he refused to let her wiggle away from him. “I know everything,” he admitted. “I know you went to the batting cages. You flirted with the bastard who owns the ax throwing place next door until he let you use your knives on his targets. I knew the second you walked into the lawyer’s office to start the divorce paperwork. I told him that if he wanted to waste his time on the paperwork, that was his choice, but there was no way in hell I would ever agree to let you go. I knew what time you got up in the morning, every time you left the house, what you had for lunch, and how many times a day you smiled. I already had cameras installed in the apartment you rented. There is a tracker on your car, one in your wallet, and one on your phone.”

“Huh.” Rose was stunned for a second, and then she smacked his side. “You knew all that? How long have you been doing that?”

“Each time I couldn’t have my eyes on you.”

Rose rested her head on his chest. Rubbing her cheek on the hard plane, she purred. The rumble deep in his chest had her breath quickening. Rose couldn’t stop her body’s reaction to his. It was him. It was always him. She craved him every bit as much as she did from the very beginning all those years ago. Her hips ground against the hardness growing between them.

“Petal, your head,” he murmured as he filled his hands with her ass. Forcing her to stop was torture when all he wanted was to be inside her. His wife. His world.

“I want this,” Rose pleaded. Forcing her hand between them, she moaned when his cock jerked at her touch. “You want me.”

“Petal, I always want you.”

“I need you to fuck me. Make me yours again.”

Warren rolled her under him. Cradling her head in his hands, he ground his cock against her. “Rose, you were always mine. There will never be a time when you are not mine. If you want my cock, it is my way. I’m in charge. You tell me if your head starts to hurt.”

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Rose gave him a sassy wink.

Warren tugged her shirt over her head, being careful to avoid her bruises. She was out of her bra before he tossed her shirt to the floor. “Petal, you aren’t listening.”
