“Nope,” Jake tossed her onto the couch. “Turn on the TV.”

“You want to watch a movie?”

“Where is the remote?”

Angelina handed Jake the remote as Max strolled through the door with Ben close behind. Army Ken looked suspiciously like he had a secret.

“Look at this,” Jake demanded her attention with a deliciously evil laugh. “I watched it on the early news. I had to be here to show you when it came on.”

“Better door than a window,” she muttered, trying to look around Jake at the TV screen. “You wanted to watch the news with me? Have we sunken to that? Boy toy, I’m sure we can find better things to do.”

“How much have you had to drink?” Jake whirled around to look at her.

“Coffee all afternoon. Rat drank what Max sent before I could get any.”

“You told her,” Max nodded.

“She is mine,” Ben grinned at her. “Told her as much as I could.”

“You knew?” Angelina narrowed her eyes at Max. “Am I the last one to know?”

“You were dating my man,” Max shrugged.

“Please,” Jake rolled his eyes. “Don’t let him fool you. The love of my life called your Army Ken.”

“Wait. You told Max before you told me?”

“I was going to call Jake when Max called me,” Ben explained. “They needed to stay away from the house until your biggest fans left.”

“Oh,” Angelina stuttered.

“Oh my God. Yes, here it is.” Jake let out a giddy laugh, bouncing excitedly.

Ben lifted Angelina out of her seat and sat with her on his lap. Max sat on the chair, drawing Jake to sit on the arm. She didn’t have time to wonder what was happening before a perky reporter captured her attention. She was standing in front of a gentleman’s club doing a live report.

“Just a few moments ago, prominent religious leader Reverend Daniel Benson was escorted out of the building in handcuffs.” They flashed to a video of Daniel surrounded by police officers as he was escorted out of the strip club with his hands behind his back.

“Is he wearing pants?” Angelina squinted to see.

“No,” Jake roared with laughter.

“He is being charged with solicitation and possession of a controlled substance. The chief of police has promised more charges are pending,” the woman reported.

A video of the police chief popped up. He was being interviewed about the arrest, but Angelina wasn’t paying attention to what he said. Behind him, they led a woman out of the club, placing her in a cruiser. The woman was half-dressed, walking with her head down, but it was clear who it was.

“You did this.”

“They were a threat to you,” he said nonchalantly.

“They are going to jail for crimes,” she stuttered. “Wait. Did they commit crimes?”

“The only thing I did was put them in the same place at the same time,” Ben told her. “What they chose to do after that is what got them arrested.”

“Isn’t it great?” Jake cackled.

Max chuckled as he wrapped his hand around Jake’s, locking their fingers together.

“But,” Angelina bit her lip, hesitating. Daniel’s followers deserved to know the man who professed to be their leader. However, if the man didn’t commit a crime, he wouldn’t be on his way to jail.
