Angelina looked at the time on her computer. She had just enough time to make it for lunch. Shoving off against her desk, her chair rolled toward the window. She could see a dust cloud moving a few miles away. Ben was on the tractor. She could make it a quick lunch. He would never know she was gone.

Angelina: Lunch. It isn’t like I am getting anything done here anyway.

Jake: Are those man problems I here? Lunch with your fairy godmen will cure man problems.

Angelina: Promises, promises.

Jake: 12:30 at our table. Don’t be late.

Angelina stuffed her phone in her pocket. With one more guilty look at her monitor, she switched it off and headed for town.

At twelve thirty-eight, she parked in the only space left at The Place. One half-guilty look around the parking lot revealed she successfully left Ben at home. There was an extra bounce in her step as she was led to a table where Jake and Max were already eating.

“You’re late, sweetness.”

Jake and Max stood to hug her, sandwiching her between them.

“I thought you didn’t want any jelly,” she teased.

“Sit and eat,” Max commanded, pointing to the chair across from them.

“What is all this?” Angelina asked.

There were six plates on the table. Her stomach growled, making Max scowl at her. Each dish was filled with something different but equally delicious looking.

“It is time to change up the menu,” Jake explained. “My love does seasonal specialties. We are sampling the goods to decide what goes on the menu.”

“What did Ben do?”

“Wow, way to ease it into the conversation,” Jake shook his head at Max.

“This looks delicious,” she ignored them.

Max snatched the plate of angel hair pasta with fresh veggies away from her.

“If you are so worried about me eating, you wouldn’t be taking food away from me.”

“Man problems that bad?” Jake sighed. “What did he do?”

Angelina slid the plate of chicken toward her, digging in.

“It can’t be that bad,” Max shrugged. “She is still eating.”

“Just so you know, I’m not this thin on purpose,” Angelina said as she chewed. “I eat whatever I want, whenever I want, and never gain a pound. If I did, I’m sure my boobs and ass would be thankful.”

“Did he say something about your appearance?” Jake recoiled, snatching the pasta away from Max to give to Angelina. “Our girl needs carbs.”

“He told me his feelings were hurt. The only thing that would make it better is to lick my pussy. Which he did this morning when he caught me bent over the washer in the laundry room. He announced he was in charge. I’m supposed to follow along like a puppy waiting on his instructions. If I’m good, I get an orgasm treat,” she shook her head in wonder.

“Ben cooked me breakfast and offered to wash my back in the shower this morning. He has seen me naked twice before the washer incident. He has a perpetual hard-on and refuses to let me have it. I gave him a little taste of his own medicine in the kitchen. He needed clean pants and a shower. I can’t concentrate. There is no work getting done. Now you are both up to speed. Pass that flatbread this way, please.”

“What is the problem?” Jake asked, confused. “He is obviously into you. If you need to have the talk, we can do that.”

“Years too late for that,” Angelina replied with a smirk. “He has the knack of being able to avoid questions or explanations. He distracts me with sexual tension and being nice.”

“The rat bastard,” Max huffed. “How dare Ben be nice and tell you he wants to pound you into the mattress. I will beat the shit out of him for you.”

“You are going to have to help me out here, sweetness.” Jake squeezed her hand. “I really want to be outraged with you, but you have to give me something to be mad about.”
