“Dumbass,” she admonished. “And now you get to go to work looking like that.”

“He was just leaving,” Ben ground out.

“Say one more word,” Angelina rounded on him. “I dare you.”

Ben grinned. If she kept this up, he was going to be hard with way too many people in the house to do anything about it.

She ripped open the freezer door tossing things around until she found bags of vegetables. Turning back to the island, she fisted her hand in Jake’s hair only to have Ben growl. Ignoring him, she pulled his head to the side and smacked a bag of frozen peas against his face. Letting go of his hair, Jake held the frosty relief against his throbbing eye.

“You would make a crappy nurse,” Jake mumbled.

“What was that I heard?” She asked, her voice low and lethal.

“Thank you,” Max answered for him.

“That’s what I thought I heard.”

“You two must be hard of hearing. What part of get the fuck out did you not understand?” Ben demanded.

Angelina ignored him and focused on Max. Rolling her eyes, she smacked him in the chest with a mag of mixed veggies and pointed to a stool. She didn’t care if he put it on the left side of his mouth or the right. Both were split open.

“Sit down,” Angelina commanded.

Max reluctantly sat.

“Angelina,” Ben grabbed her shirt, pulling her toward him, commanding her attention.

“Ben,” she sighed and smiled sweetly, looking up at him with adoration. It worked as she hoped. The stupid man softened. When she tugged on his shirt, he leaned down. Shaking her head at how quickly he thought she would forgive him, Angelina snagged his ear between two fingers and twisted.

“God damn, woman,” Ben grumbled. “Let go.”

“Ben Owen, you are going to sit your ass on that stool and stay there,” she commanded, stepping over the broken glass and dragging him to the seat beside Max. “You are going to shut your bossy mouth and listen.” She gave him another good twist and pushed him onto the stool. “And then when I am done, you can apologize.”

Jake and Max sucked in an audible breath.

“He didn’t,” Jake whispered.

“I would say he did,” Max answered.

“Yes. Yes, he did. The big asshat informed me on the way home last night I was to be quiet until he was ready to hear my apology. Then, while I was asleep, he decided it would be a good idea to undress me and put me in his t-shirt.”

Max shook his head, and Jake gawked at her.

“Yeah, he did that. I have nothing under this shirt, but he was nice enough to put me in my own bed.”

Angelina released his ear. Ben glared, but he stayed put. Tossing him a bag of broccoli, Angelina walked around the island to get another cup of coffee.

“This is between you and me. It has nothing to do with them.”

Angelina ignored him as the first sip delighted her senses. This was not how she thought this conversation would go. How did you explain to a crazily obsessed, possessive man that you are in a relationship with a guy and his boyfriend? Yeah, this was going to go well. Fairy godmen, her ass.

“Ben, we have something to tell you,” Jake started.

“What you need to do is get the fuck out before I toss your ass out. That woman is mine. I don’t care what you had going on. It is over,” Ben snapped, surging to his feet.

Angelina ignored them. She could always beat them with cookware if they started throwing fists again. She had lots of it. Each one could have their own fry pan to get bashed with. The company claimed endurance. It was time to test that claim.

Her stomach growled. Dinner came in liquid form last night. She needed food before she dealt with this mess: food and more coffee. Busying herself, she poured three mugs of coffee and placed one in front of each man. None of them were happy, but it looked like that was just how the cookie crumbled today.
